United's Vidic misses out, Barca's Deco returns

BARCELONA, April 23 (Reuters) - Manchester United centre-back Nemanja Vidic is out of Wednesday's Champions League semi-final, first leg against Barcelona after failing to recover from a stomach bug.

The Serbian international missed training on Tuesday and Spanish media reported that he was taken to hospital for an assessment late at night.

United manager Alex Ferguson has moved England midfielder Owen Hargreaves into defence alongside Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown and Patrice Evra.

Paul Scholes will make his 100th Champions League appearance after being included in the starting lineup, while Ryan Giggs is on the bench.

Portugal international Deco will make his first appearance for Barcelona in two months after coach Frank Rijkaard decided to beef up his midfield and play him alongside Yaya Toure.

Forward Thierry Henry was among the Barca substitutes after recovering from flu while Lionel Messi starts for the first time since injuring his thigh at the beginning of March.
